Polish composer Lutoslawski created his Folk Melodies for piano in 1945, in the tradition of Bartok's folk settings for piano. In turn, transcriber Singleton has used four of the Folk Melodies to create an extremely colorful, transparent suite of miniatures that expertly uses the colors available in the modern Wind Band.
