An Appalachian folk tune gone wild! Using an obscure folk melody from the Southeast (Run Boys Run), the composer has created a riotously entertaining sound environment that intertwines his original theme with the folk theme. The Appalachian melody is presented first in trumpets over the sound of marching feet on stage. Unusual percussion sounds include an optional marching machine and hiking shoes clapped together on hands.
